Our airport was once considered on of the most dangerous airports for commercial jets in the world due to the short runway and the looming hill on the east end. Fortunately, steps were taken a few years back to remove the hill and lengthen the runway. White knuckle landings and takeoffs were eliminated except when the winds blow during the hurricane season.
